Our client, a key player in the aerospace industry, is seeking a diligent Graduate Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to kick-start your career in finance and accounting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with the processing and settlement of supplier and customer invoices
  • Handling financial reporting and bookkeeping tasks
  • Promoting a safe workplace environment and adhering to policies.
  • Accurately clocking time and job cost bookings
  • Maintaining a clean and organised workspace
Role Specific Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable:

  • Printing and processing invoices and credit notes
  • Building and maintaining supplier relationships
  • Co-managing the shared AP inboxes
  • Responding to supplier and internal queries effectively and promptly

Accounts Receivable:

  • Preparing, reviewing, and distributing sales invoices
  • Resolving invoice queries and disputes
  • Liaising with customers to ensure timely cash receipt
  • Monitoring payment status of invoices

Financial Reporting and Bookkeeping:

  • Supporting VAT return preparation and analysis
  • Posting bank and loan transactions, and updating cashbooks
  • Reconciling bank statements
  • Monitoring fixed asset spend versus forecast
  • Updating fixed asset register and posting depreciation
  • Supporting external audit requests
  • Collaborating with other departments and key stakeholders
Job Requirements:
  • Experience working in an accounts payable function with high volume invoice processing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products, including Excel and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of financial reporting software

Desirable:

  • Experience with Tropos and Coda is advantageous but not essential

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work accurately under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Mathematical, accounting, data analysis, and data entry aptitude
