We currently have additional excellent opportunities for Vehicle Mechanics / Plant Mechanics / Mechanical Fitters to work with a successful and expanding engineering/construction company, who provide services to clients across the UK.

You will be joining a small, professional, well-established team based near Southampton.

Day-to-day duties and responsibilities will involve servicing, repairing and fault diagnosing of a wide range of mobile machinery and vehicles used in the construction and building industries, and will also include PDI inspectionsfabricatingmodifying equipment and moving vehicles in their yard.

  • Based in the workshop and yard, completing paperwork and auditing items, the role will be physical and requires a candidate with good attention to detail.
  • A background within car / vehicle mechanics or engineering and a good hands-on knowledge of diesel engines is desired although candidates that have worked within a similar environment (boats, pumps) would be eligible.
  • The role would suit candidates with experience of basic mechanics, plant hire/fitting, pumps/engines car/vehicle repairs or general maintenance and a good eye for detail.
  • This role offers 42.5 hours per week with overtime when required plus bonuses on a 12-week temporary to permanent assignment, with the pay rate reflecting experience.
  • There will be times where candidates are required to collect machines from site and to cover as the out of hours service which is shared by the entire team on a rota basis.
  • Candidates must also be aware that there will be times where certain jobs will involve occasional nights away when required.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.
