Freight Coordinator
- Location: Southampton (Office Based)
- Job Type: Full-time /Monday to Friday (9am to 5.30pm)
- Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
This role is ideal for individuals with direct experience in the UK freight or logistics industry, who are committed to providing exceptional customer service and efficient communication.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide comprehensive freight forwarding services for both import and export consignments, utilising various modes of transportation including Air, Sea, and Road.
- Deliver high levels of customer service, ensuring effective and efficient communication at all levels.
- Generate freight rates and quotations for clients.
- Produce essential shipping documents such as bills of lading and letters of credit.
- Handle the completion of customs clearances to ensure smooth transit of goods.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience within the UK freight or logistics industry.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Familiarity with multi-modal transportation processes (Air, Sea, Road).
- Experience in generating freight rates and handling quotations.
- Proficiency in producing bills of lading, letters of credit, and completing customs clearances.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
