Job Title: Commissioning Engineer (Water Treatment)

The Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our team working on a water treatment plant project for Southern Water. You will play a vital role in ensuring the successful and efficient commissioning of this critical infrastructure project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commissioning Activities:

* Execute commissioning plans and procedures for various mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation (MEICA) systems within the water treatment plant.
* Conduct pre-commissioning inspections and testing of equipment and systems.
* Perform functional testing and performance verification of all MEICA systems, including pumps, valves, filters, control panels, instrumentation, and SCADA systems.
* Troubleshoot and resolve any issues identified during commissioning.
* Prepare and maintain detailed commissioning records and documentation.
* Coordinate with other engineers, contractors, and subcontractors during commissioning activities.

  • Safety and Compliance:

* Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and procedures, including working in confined spaces, wearing personal protective equipment, and following company safety protocols.
* Ensure all work is performed in a safe and compliant manner.

  • Quality Assurance:

* Contribute to maintaining high quality standards during the commissioning process.
* Ensure that all systems meet design specifications and performance requirements.
* Identify and address potential quality issues.

  • Documentation:

* Prepare and maintain detailed commissioning reports and documentation, including test results, defect logs, and handover documents.

  • Teamwork:

* Collaborate effectively with other members of the commissioning team, project engineers, site supervisors, and contractors.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Essential:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, or a related field) or equivalent experience.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in commissioning water treatment plants or similar infrastructure projects.
* A strong understanding of MEICA systems and their integration within water treatment facilities.
* Experience with commissioning testing procedures and methodologies.
* Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Desirable:

* Experience with specific water treatment technologies (e.g., reverse osmosis, filtration, disinfection).
* Experience with SCADA systems and control systems.
* Knowledge of commissioning software and tools.
* First Aid certification.
