Class 2 ADR Driver - Ports Recycling - ADR Preferred but not Essential

About the Role:

Our client, a well-established leader in the recycling and waste management industry, is seeking a highly skilled Class 2 ADR Driver to join their team. Operating from a key port facility, you will be responsible for the safe collection and transportation of both hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials to recycling centres. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional driver who is looking to join a forward-thinking company that places a high emphasis on safety, environmental responsibility, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operating a Class 2 vehicle to collect, transport, and deliver waste materials (hazardous and non-hazardous) from ports to recycling facilities.

- Adhering to all relevant ADR (European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road) regulations for the transportation of hazardous materials.

- Conducting daily vehicle checks, ensuring maintenance is up to date and reporting any defects.

- Completing all necessary paperwork, including waste transfer notes and consignment notes in line with legal and company requirements.

- Maintaining compliance with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) procedures, especially in the handling of hazardous goods.

- Coordinating with port authorities and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient collection and delivery.

- Efficiently planning routes to meet delivery schedules while adhering to safety and driving regulations.

- Reporting any incidents or delays promptly and maintaining effective communication with the transport team.

- Upholding the company's commitment to environmental standards and best practices in waste management.

Skills & Qualifications:

Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence with relevant driving experience.

ADR Licence (covering tanks or packages, depending on the materials transported).

CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification.

Strong knowledge and experience in applying ADR regulations when transporting hazardous goods.

Previous experience in the waste management or recycling sectors is highly desirable.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Strong attention to detail, particularly with regards to safety procedures and legal compliance.

The ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.

Good time management and organisational skills, ensuring deadlines are met.
