We are looking for a Class 2 permanent driver in Southampton.

Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm

£32,500 per year

The main goal of this Class 2 Driver is to deliver a first class delivery service to our customers on behalf of the company. We operate in a 70 miles radius from base and cover areas such as Southampton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth, Salisbury, Weymouth and Yeovil on a regular basis.

As a driver you should:

  • Be willing to help the team out and customers
  • Ability to deal with problems in the appropriate manner
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines * Keep calm in stressful situations without rushing and making mistakes
  • Have experience in multi drop work and non-palletised deliveries.
  • Manual handling skills are essential and you must have a good level of physical fitness, as this is a physically demanding role.

Duties & responsibilities:

  • You will work alongside the logistics team to pick a small portion of the goods and help load other vehicles, including your own, ready for delivery that day.
  • Carry out daily driver checks to ensure the vehicle is safe and legal to drive before setting off.
  • Report any defects of the vehicle to the Transport Manager.
  • Deliver goods to customer's premises in a timely manner and put the goods where they request.
  • Collect payment from the customers in the form of cash and cheques.
  • Offer a first class customer service experience to our customers and build good relationships with them.
  • Communicate with the sales team regarding the route you have been assigned to and discuss any issues that may arise.
  • You will be responsible for your own Health & Safety when at client's premises and are expected to evaluate and manage each premises for any risks when delivering goods.
