Our client are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Bid Manager to join theirteam, based in Southampton. This role is an excellent opportunity for a strategic thinker who excels in managing complex bids, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering winning proposals for high-profile projects. The position offers the flexibility of hybrid working to accommodate work-life balance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Bid Strategy & Management: Lead and manage the end-to-end bid process for large-scale construction projects, ensuring that all proposals align with client requirements and company objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with project teams, estimators, design teams, and external consultants to develop robust, competitive bids.
  • Proposal Development: Oversee the creation of compelling, compliant, and client-focused proposals that highlight our expertise and value proposition.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure bids meet all compliance and quality standards, maintaining meticulous attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate bid risks, advising senior management on key decisions related to project feasibility and financial viability.
  • Market & Competitor Analysis: Conduct regular analysis of market trends, client needs, and competitor activity to inform bid strategies and enhance the likelihood of success.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior bid managers, providing support in bid coordination, client presentations, and tender responses.


Our client is seeking an individual with extensive experience as a bid manager within the construction industry, preferably with a tier 1 main contractor. They must have strong commerical acumen with an understanding of construction project life cycle, costing and risk assessments, proven track record of winning significant bids for high value projects and demonstrated ability to lead and influence multi-disciplinary teams.
