Children's Residential Practitioner

Southampton City Council are looking for a Children's Residential Practitioner to join one of their Children's Homes.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute toward the development and adherence to risk assessment and care plans for children in the home
  • Develop and deliver activities for children including fun, developmental and educational experiences to support them to thrive
  • Use IT recording systems to record key information relevant to the lives and experiences of children in the home
  • Provide a safe, clean, warm environment for children including domestic tasks such as cleaning and cooking
  • Engage in supervision, reflection and training to demonstrate consistent self-development and improvement of both self and the wider service

Requirements:

  • Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 2 or equivalent
  • Previous experience of working with children and young people who have experienced trauma
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance and practices and their implications
