Overview:A leading UK social housing association is seeking two experienced and qualified Interim Asbestos Surveyors to join their team on a temporary basis. The successful candidates will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with asbestos management regulations and maintaining the safety and well-being of tenants across the housing portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3 asbestos surveys in accordance with HSG264 guidelines.
- Carry out re-inspections and updates to the asbestos register across the organisation's housing stock.
- Prepare detailed reports and provide accurate records using appropriate data collection tools.
- Assess and communicate risks to stakeholders, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation, including the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
- Liaise with tenants, contractors, and internal teams to schedule and complete surveys with minimal disruption.
- Provide advice on asbestos-related matters, including safe management, removal, and remediation.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and organisational procedures.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- BOHS P402 (Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings) qualification or equivalent.
- Demonstrable experience in conducting asbestos surveys within a social housing or residential property environment.
- Working knowledge of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and other relevant legislation.
- Ability to use digital tools and software for data recording and report generation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.
Desirable Skills:
- Additional BOHS qualifications, such as P403 or P404.
- Experience working with housing associations or local councils.

- Competitive daily or hourly rate, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
