Role Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join our established Building Surveying and Technical Due Diligence team in the south of England.The core responsibilities will largely relate to transactional based instructions across the UK with the opportunity to assist on projects. However, the workload will be varied and include a mixture of technical advisory and some professional and heritage project work with flexibility potentially to accommodate the specific skill sets and aspirations of the applicant.

The successful candidate will be expected to be technically excellent and have a broad range and experience of commercial surveying including Technical Due Diligence (TDD), traditional Building Surveying and Projects. Additionally, the candidate should be able to manage multiple instructions.

Key Responsibilities

  • To actively seek new instructions, assist in the pitching for and pricing of fee quotes and to increase the workload of the department and to actively pitch for new work
  • Carry out the service to achieve the strategy progress and manage the service as planned, along with agreeing any variations and providing feedback to the client
  • The key focus will be around technical due diligence advice and reporting to identify key risks, the severity and quantification of these risks, along with recommendations for mitigation
  • You will effectively communicate, ensuring all information is available for the successful implementation and completion of projects
  • Liaise with the Project Managers and Team Leaders to ensure efficient financial control resulting in a cost effective service

 Key Skills

  • Degree in Building Surveying or practical work experience
  • MRICS qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor
  • Excellent technical ability
  • Multi-discipline experience
  • Ability to manage project risk
  • Ability to be flexible to meet tight project deadlines
  • Manage quality standards to ensure high quality output
  • Understand the transaction process including requirements of funders
  • Understanding of both technical and legislative requirements along with a good commercial awareness
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills enabling strong working relationships with clients
