In your new role as Commercial Manager, you will lead a team of quantity surveyors, overseeing multiple developments, including regeneration schemes and phased projects. Reporting to the Commercial Director, your role involves managing budgets and valuations, ensuring cost control, and providing accurate reconciliation reports. You'll focus on subcontractor procedures, value engineering, and mentoring surveyors to support their professional growth. Your leadership will drive commercial operations while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices. What you'll need to succeed to excel in this role, you should possess strong management skills with a thorough understanding of cost control, budget handling, and valuation processes. Expertise in construction materials, regulations, and practices is essential, alongside proficiency in software systems such as COINS and Excel. You must demonstrate excellent communication and mentorship capabilities to effectively support your team, alongside a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to achieving the best value in all commercial undertakings. You will have substantial experience as a Commercial Manager within the UK construction industry, either with a residential building contractor or volume developer for houses or apartment schemes, and will be educated at a UK college or university.
