Archaeology AssistantLocation: SouthamptonSalary: £12.59 per hour About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Archaeology Assistant to join our dynamic team in Southampton. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a team that excavates and records archaeological material, contributing to significant projects and helping to uncover our past. Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the excavation and recording of archaeological materials, following guidance from senior team members.
  • Accurately identify, excavate, and document archaeological contexts, including preparing context sheets, scale drawings, and photographic records.
  • Perform calculations for measured drawings and field surveys, maintaining high levels of concentration during repetitive tasks.
  • Support post-excavation activities, such as processing finds and samples, and assisting in report preparation.
