Full job description

OverviewWe are seeking a skilled IPAF Operator who can repair concrete structures to work in Southampton. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating powered access equipment safely and efficiently on a specific job site. This role is crucial in ensuring that all operations are conducted in compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining high standards of work quality.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various types of powered access equipment, including cherry pickers and scissor lifts, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition before use.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies while on site.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring that all tools and equipment are stored properly after use.
  • Assist in training new operators as required, sharing best practices for safe operation.

Experience

  • Valid IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) certification is essential.
  • Previous experience operating powered access equipment is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to powered access operations.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Must have previous experience in repairing concrete structures.

Contract to start at the beginning of February.
