An established integrated services contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager / Agent to join their team on a highways term maintenance contract covering Southampton and the surrounding region.
The successful candidate will take a leading role in the delivery of various improvement and maintenance schemes, including resurfacing, street lighting, road markings, accessibility upgrades, and enhancements to public transport infrastructure.
Scope of Works Includes:
  • Roadworks and resurfacing schemes
  • Signing and lining projects
  • Urban realm improvements
  • Footway and cycleway installations
  • Structures capital maintenance
  • Accessibility and safety upgrades
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead project execution with a focus on safety, quality, and cost control
  • Manage and motivate on-site teams and subcontractors
  • Oversee allocation of plant, labour, and materials
  • Ensure compliance with HSEQ policies and statutory regulations
  • Monitor and report on project progress, resolving any delivery challenges
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and satisfaction
Requirements:
  • Strong background in highways or civil engineering projects, ideally in a term maintenance setting
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Knowledge of surfacing, streetworks, and maintenance methods
  • ONC, HNC, or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • SMSTS, CSCS card, and Site Safety Management certification (highly desirable)
  • Flexible to meet business needs, including occasional evening or weekend work
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
