Customer Service/Sales Administrator

TLP Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Customer Service/ Sales Administrator on a permanent basis, in Southampton. This is for a well-established company in the lifting and rigging industry.

Location: Southampton

Working Schedule:

  • Week 1: Monday to Thursday, 7:45 am to 4:00 pm with a 30-minute unpaid break; Friday, 7:45 am to 1:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid break.
  • Week 2: Monday to Friday, 7:45 am to 4:00 pm with a 1-hour unpaid break.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer customer enquiries in person, by phone, and by email.
  • Prepare and manage quotations, sales orders, and purchase orders for customer-specific items.
  • Answer technical questions and provide product information by phone or email.
  • Coordinate with logistics companies to arrange deliveries.
  • Generate and manage picking lists and delivery notes.
  • Maintain accurate records through data entry on our asset system.
  • Complete and provide test certifications for customers.
  • Maintain stock levels and oversee the procurement of fittings, stock, and stationery.
  • Check incoming stock for accuracy and quality.
  • Ensure high levels of customer service and satisfaction are consistently achieved.
  • Perform general office duties, including filing and managing paperwork.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • High level of customer focus and commitment to excellent service.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with computers and office software.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Experience in proactive selling and upselling.
  • Ability to follow up on customer enquiries efficiently.

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous experience in the lifting industry and/or with wire rope products is an advantage.
