The Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant to work closely with a student requiring tailored educational and emotional support. You will play a crucial role in helping the student access the curriculum, develop key skills, and build confidence within a structured and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised 1:1 support to a student with specific SEN needs during lessons and activities.
  • Assist in implementing Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to adapt learning materials and ensure accessibility.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging atmosphere to help the student achieve their full potential.
  • Support the student's social and emotional well-being.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff and contribute to progress reports.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly within an educational setting (preferred but not essential).
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to working with students who face challenges.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
  • A commitment to promoting equality and inclusion.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, SEN, or a related field are advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
