Accounts Manager

Southampton

Salary up to £55,000 (DOE)

As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of client accounts with a strong focus on client service, assignment delivery, and the development of junior staff through coaching and mentorship.

The Role:

You will play a pivotal role in client service delivery, assignment management, and staff mentoring. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients
  • Planning, reviewing, and analysing assignments
  • Quality control and peer reviews
  • Supervising junior staff through briefing, review, and constructive feedback
  • Full responsibility for engagements
  • Budgeting and staffing assignments
  • Monitoring deadlines and ensuring compliance
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Managing fees, billing, and running client meetings
  • Participating in compliance and regulatory processes

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (minimum two years post-qualification experience)
  • Strong coaching and delegation skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Clear, confident communication skills - especially when breaking down technical points for clients or junior colleagues
  • Commercially astute with a client-focused mindset
  • A collaborative and supportive approach to teamwork
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and self-development
