Audit Manager Job Vacancy

We are delighted to be representing an established and regionally respected firm in their search for an Audit Manager in Southampton to join their modern team and oversee audit matters for a portfolio of interesting clients in a variety of sectors.

This opportunity will suit someone who is ACA, ACCA or CA qualified, with several years of audit experience within an accountancy practice. You will be able to effectively communicate technical matters in an easy-to-understand way for clients and an elevated level of attention to detail will also be essential for this role.

The Audit Manager will be responsible for not only the workflow of audit from planning to completion, but also the progression, performance and productivity of the audit team so leadership and people management skills will also be essential.

You’ll support the Partners in all aspects of business development too so great communication and networking skills will stand candidates in good stead to win this enticing position with a market-beating suite of rewards.

Job Purpose

  • Manage audits from planning to completion.
  • Mentor the team?and support with their learning and development.
  • Monitor client deadlines and ensure these are met.
  • The preparation and submission of financial statements.
  • Oversee workflow and improve processes where possible.
  • Leading field-based client meetings and audit work.
  • Able to work alongside and support the Partners in all audit and business development matters.
  • Assist with target setting and department budgeting.
  • Billing and debt overview for the audit department.
  • Ability to identify services that will add value to your portfolio of clients.
  • Confident in networking to promote the department.
  • Overseeing the audit team and championing the firm’s values within the team.
  • Provide professional and personable client-facing communication skills.
  • Set an example for the team as a natural leader.
  • Not be afraid to add innovative ideas into the mix.

The Successful Applicant

  • ACA, ACCA or CA qualified with audit experience within practice

  • Experience of audit systems would be a distinct advantage.
  • A drive to deliver technical knowledge as a point of call for the team
  • Previous supervisory experience, with a positive attitude
  • Confident in reviewing processes and improving systems to boost efficiency
  • Strong communication skills are essential, both verbal and written
