The University of Southampton is seeking to make the appointment to the role of Associate Director of Engineering. The Estates & Facilities Team ensure that the University has a built and physical environment that supports the activities of a world-class University, across a portfolio of academic, state of the art research, clinical, enterprise, workspace, residential, social amenity, sport and community facilities. Ambitious plans are afoot with an estates masterplan that will see £1bn of investment in enhancing and delivering a sustainable, inclusive estate over the next decade.The role is responsible for leading optimal, cost effective and sustainable delivery of all engineering, operational maintenance and repairs services to all University owned and run buildings in the UK, including reactive and planned maintenance and some minor works. You would provide strategic and technical leadership in the built environment of the University’s assets, acting as Duty Holder and manage the delivery of engineering infrastructure services, energy procurement and carbon management to optimal levels of cost and quality. In addition, form a liaison or "bridge" role to Estates Development in the context of major capital planning and implementation.This role will suit exceptional candidates with a track record of managing large diverse estates operational teams and outsourced contracts. You will be adept at prioritising and providing an exceptional customer service all within budget.
