Sonic Summary

info
  • The UK startup accelerator programme is seeking a new team member to help sustain and grow their operations.
  • The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in public sector grants and university funding.
  • The role involves applying for funding, grants, and establishing commercial partnerships to reduce reliance on university funding.
  • The position offers a salary of £40,000 to £50,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Candidates with a strong track record in income generation and knowledge of STEM programmes are highly desirable.

We've partnered with one of the UK's leading startup accelerator programmes as they continue to grow their team and operations. Associated with one of the leading universities in the country, this accelerator Programme helps university students turn their degree/PhD research into exciting startup businesses and launch into the commercial world. They've taken businesses from concept to Silicon Valley and from startup to 100-person strong companies.

This year, their plans are bigger and better than ever before, and as such, they are looking for someone to join the team. This person will play a pivotal role in ensuring the programme continues to be sustainable. Although they are part of the university and receive university funding they also need to be as self sufficient as possible through applying for funding, grants and commercial partnerships. Their aim is to move away from being highly reliant on uni funding and become more of a self-sufficient organisation so they can scale their operations further. If you're an expert in public sector grants and the university funding eco-system this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Key Skills:

  • Experience working within a university or government organisation
  • Expert knowledge of university funding and grant programmes and how to apply and successfully win grants for a Programme
  • Experience either applying for grants or reviewing grants within the education sector
  • Strong track record of income generation through grant and funding programmes
  • Experience and/or knowledge of STEM programmes within universities
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
