Maths Graduate – Aspiring Teacher

Are you a recent Maths graduate with a passion for teaching and helping students achieve their potential? GSL Education is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths Graduate to join a supportive secondary school in Southampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start their teaching career, with full training and development to guide you along the way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the delivery of Maths lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Support students individually or in small groups to help them grasp key mathematical concepts.
  • Provide classroom support, helping students stay engaged and focused during lessons.
  • Assist in the preparation and creation of teaching resources and materials.
  • Monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers and offering support where necessary.
  • Get involved in extracurricular activities related to Maths, such as Maths clubs or revision sessions.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A degree in Mathematics (2:2 or above).
  • A strong desire to pursue a career in teaching and inspire young learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students.
  • A proactive, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach to work.
  • Previous experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) would be advantageous but not essential.
  • A keen interest in developing your skills and taking the next step in your teaching career.
