Job description

What will you do? Make an impact!

Join our team and be responsible for Safety, Health, Environment and Quality across the Fawley site. This role helps ensure that the site operates safely and effectively in line with current Tradebe policies and procedures and to ensure the ongoing effectiveness and suitability of these management systems.

* To operate effectively as a member of the site's senior site management team as the lead / specialist on operational risk identification and effective risk control, with the particular to ensure full compliance with regulatory expectation on process safety management, occupational health and safety management and environmental permit compliance, including where necessary the development of the existing Safety Report, Environmental Permits and other relevant licenses / agreements. * To closely link with the technical functions (engineering, maintenance, laboratory) on CI, modernisation, new waste stream solutions and business improvement initiatives. * To lead the sustainability development of the site towards net zero, leading the watching brief and required management actions for emissions trading, climate change levy agreements and carbon capture developments, including performance reporting and review. * To represent Tradebe's interests at regulatory and policy consultations, network events, & trade associations

The role

Do you have what it takes?

* Process Safety: Oversee and control an effective and up to date hazard identification and risk assessment programme (HazID, HazOp, LOPA, SIL), determination, agreement, implementation and upkeep of resultant risk control measures* To maintain and ensure ongoing compliance with the emergency plans; oversee Tradebe's emergency exercise programme; maintain site incident command structures; maintain off-site communications with neighbours in the Public Information Zone;* Personal Safety: Ensure risks to our employees are assessed and effectively controlled, with requirements being effectively communicated through site inductions and SHEQ competency programmes.* Health: To oversee the Chemical Exposure Monitoring Programmes (COSHH);* To oversee, monitor and control noise & vibration exposure; to ensure that suitable legionella and asbestos control regimes are in place and maintained as relevant;* Environment: To maintain and ensure ongoing compliance with Environmental Permits and other relevant environmental legislation and to liaise with regulators;* To oversee the site energy management programmes and ensure compliance with climate change levy and other relevant programmes and targets. To monitor, review and build Fawley's sustainability / CSR programme towards net zero and principles of social value.* Quality: Oversee the site quality control programme;* Report monthly on quality performance and as soon as practicable on any significant quality issues.* Management Systems: To liaise with the certification body and key customers in site audits, to oversee and implement the site's internal audit programme, including conducting audits at other sites* To periodically review all aspects of the systems and recommend changes to maintain the relevance of procedures and documents in achieving the aims outlined in the Tradebe policy documents;* Operations: Provide instruction and advice on the technical aspects of operating the plant* Industry Sector / Trade Association Lead: you will be the site's external stakeholder lead for: DEFRA / BEIS / EA / HSE / ESA / EURITS* Tradebe lead for incineration related regulatory consultation exercises* Strategy development plans for regulatory change * Incineration Process, hazardous waste management, COMAH site requirements* HSE Legislation, Guidance and Standards* Quality, H&S, Environment Management Systems
