Successful engineering business require a Technical Buyer on a REMOTE basis. Applicants ideally should have technical procurement experience within a mechanical engineering setting and have the ability to read drawings, understand BOMs and MRP.

The Technical Buyer will join a team of other Buyers, also working on a REMOTE basis. for this successful engineering and supply business, servicing the oil & gas, petrochemical and process industries. The Technical Buyer will be responsible for operational purchasing tasks such as purchase order management, expediting and maintaining data in the MRP/ERP system.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly growing and successful business on a fully remote, permanent contract.

Specific duties of the Technical Buyer include:

  • Purchase Order Placement
  • Supplier liaison - monitor performance, expedite, build relationships, investigate new suppliers
  • Liaison with technical/engineering colleagues around NCR, material certifications etc,
  • Maintenance of MRP/ERP system
  • Support the function as it continues to grow and streamline operations

Technical Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Experience as a Buyer, Technical Buyer, Engineering Buyer, Project Buyer
  • Experience in a mechanical engineering business, ideally one supporting oil, gas and petrochemical sectors
  • Comfortable with engineering stakeholders, technical drawings, BOMs, MRP/ERP etc.
  • Positive, pro-active, team player
  • Comfortable with a full-time, remote role
