As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality care to residents while supervising and supporting care staff. You will be responsible for administering medication, assisting with personal care, and ensuring the well-being of individuals in a care home or domiciliary setting. Your role also involves mentoring junior carers, maintaining care plans, and working closely with healthcare professionals to provide exceptional person-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:? Supervision & Leadership:
- Lead and support a team of care assistants to ensure high-quality care delivery.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior staff.
- Conduct handovers and ensure clear communication within the team.
? Personal Care & Support:
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide mobility support, including safe use of hoists and assistive equipment.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to residents.
? Medication Administration:
- Safely administer and manage medications following care plans and policies.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration.
- Liaise with healthcare professionals regarding medication changes.
? Health Monitoring & Record-Keeping:
- Observe and report any changes in residents' physical and mental well-being.
- Maintain up-to-date care plans and records.
- Assist in risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
? Care Planning & Compliance:
- Work closely with nurses and healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
- Ensure care home policies and safeguarding regulations are followed.
- Promote a safe and hygienic living environment for residents.
? Strong leadership and supervisory skills
? Compassionate and patient approach to care
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
? Ability to work independently and as part of a team
? Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a care setting
? Experience in medication administration and record-keeping
