We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Computer Science Teacher to join a secondary school in Southampton. This long-term, part-time role requires 2-3 days per week, starting from Easter 2025 and running through to July 2025, with potential for extension.

Job Description:

As a Part-Time Computer Science Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ understanding of programming, computational thinking, and digital literacy. Your role will be to inspire students, encouraging them to explore coding, problem-solving, and software development. You will be working within a supportive and enthusiastic team, making a lasting impact on student learning and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging Computer Science lessons aligned with the national curriculum.

  • Teach key topics such as Python, algorithms, data structures, cybersecurity, and digital literacy.

  • Create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking.

  • Assess student progress and provide regular, constructive feedback to support their development.

  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning space for students in practical computing sessions.

  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students.

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Computer Science department.

Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • A degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related subject.

  • Experience teaching Computer Science in a secondary school setting.

  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for Computer Science.

  • Proficiency in teaching programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scratch.
