Position: Full-Time Teaching Assistant (Term Time Only)
Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:20 am - 4pm (Term Time Only)

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) and behavioural needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students at KS3/KS4 level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH and behavioural needs in a classroom environment.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored interventions and differentiated learning activities.
  • Support students in managing their emotions and behaviour, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help students to develop social skills, resilience, and self-regulation strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour plans.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and contributing to review meetings.


Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people with SEMH and behavioural needs (essential).
  • Ability to commit to full-time work during term time.
  • Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach.
  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one.
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable students and helping them achieve their full potential.
