Quantum Scholars are working alongside a vibrant secondary school in Southampton who are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Sociology Teacher to join them in January 2025! This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students and contribute to their understanding of social structures, cultural dynamics, and critical social issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching: Plan and deliver engaging and effective Sociology lessons for Key Stages 4 and 5, catering to a range of learning styles.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the Social Sciences department to enhance the Sociology curriculum and ensure it meets national standards.
  • Assessment: Design and implement assessments to monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
  • Student Support: Mentor and support students, fostering a positive learning environment and encouraging their academic and personal development.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities: Contribute to the wider school community through involvement in clubs, societies, and events related to social sciences.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with educational best practices and engage in ongoing professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Must be a qualified teacher.
  • Experience: Previous teaching experience at secondary level, preferably with a focus on Sociology.
