We are currently working with a lovely SEN Secondary School in Southampton. We are looking for a pro-active and personable individual to support KS3 and KS4 classes who cater for pupils with SEN needs. The school's focus is providing a nurturing environment that enables the pupils to engage successfully in all aspects of learning.

Role of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Supporting the class Teacher (4-8 pupils per class)
  • Supporting with outdoor day trips and activity days
  • Embrace all aspects of the school's visions and core values
  • Working with pupils with ASC, complex needs, and challenging behaviours
  • Full-time 8:30am to 3:30pm
  • 1:1 and small group work ensuring pupils stay on track with the curriculum

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have lots of patience, be proactive and resilient! - this role can be challenging, but it is very rewarding!
  • Experience working within a SEN school (not essential)
  • A strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with pupils
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
