Our client is a leading Southampton based college committed to providing students with a comprehensive and supportive learning environment. We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join the team as a Work Experience Coordinator and Job Coach. This is a part time / job share role working 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) initially on a temporary basis with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Role Purpose:

The Work Experience Coordinator and Job Coach will play a crucial role in helping students gain valuable practical experience and develop essential career skills. You will be responsible for liaising with students to identify their career goals and interests, and then matching them with suitable work placements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Support:
  • Conduct one-to-one meetings with students to assess their career aspirations and identify potential work placement opportunities.
  • Provide guidance and support throughout the work experience process, including job application assistance, interview preparation, and on-the-job support.
  • Employer Engagement:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers to secure work placements for our students.
  • Market our students' skills and qualifications to potential employers.
  • Conduct site visits to assess the suitability of work placements and monitor student progress.
  • Job Coaching:
  • Provide students with career coaching and advice on job search strategies, networking, and interview techniques.
  • Help students develop their CV, cover letters, and online profiles.
  • Administration:
  • Maintain accurate records of student placements and employer contacts.
  • Coordinate the logistics of work placements, including transportation and accommodation arrangements.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, employers, and colleagues.
  • A passion for helping young people achieve their career goals.
