We are seeking a Network Administrator to provide both Service Desk and Network support in a dynamic 1st and 2nd line role. With guidance from senior team members, you will resolve problems, maintain systems, and support our network and server infrastructure.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in network administration, looking to further develop their skills in a supportive environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Monitor and respond quickly to requests received through the IT Service Desk.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, escalating as necessary.
- Assist with on-site desktop/laptop support, including setup, imaging, and deployment.
- Provide minor telecom system support and manage mobile devices, voicemail, and user programming.
- Configure, maintain, and upgrade networks and in-house servers.
- Administer and support third-party applications such as WinMan, DDM, and Sunrise.
- Research and recommend system or infrastructure changes to improve performance.
- Provide weekly on-site support to the Luton Sales and Service site.
- Assist with the onboarding and offboarding of users, ensuring smooth transitions for new starters and leavers.
- Maintain and expand your knowledge base, attending courses to keep skills current.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Network Administration or a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with networking, routing, and switching, preferably with Extreme Networks.
- Strong knowledge of server infrastructure management, control, and monitoring (Dell, VMWare, NetApp).
- Experience with backup and recovery processes, ideally with Veeam.
- Familiarity with applications like WinMan, DDM, and Sunrise is preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with PLM, MRP, or Shop Floor systems is advantageous.
Full UK driving license is essential.
