Our client is seeking to recruit a Stores/Warehouse person for an initial 6-month contract to support their site near Southampton. This role focuses on maintaining efficient material movements and stock control to support daily operations in a busy engineering warehouse.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Material Movements:

  • Use handheld scanners to correctly transact all materials from Main Stores to Lineside Locations.
  • Adhere to internal SLA for all parts delivered.
  • Follow established processes and procedures.
  • Maintain Kanban management for all internal stocked locations.
  • Ensure adherence to shelf-life management.

Stock Control:

  • Perform ad-hoc stock checks of the main stores.
  • Assist in booking materials received from internal and external suppliers.
  • Distribute stock to ensure correct levels across Lineside locations, Picking Station, and Overflow storage locations.

General Duties:

  • Deliver continuous improvements to enhance performance, quality, efficiency, and cost.
  • Support the wider Logistics team.
  • Assist internal customers with deliveries of materials.
  • Load and unload lorries using a forklift.
  • Promote a proactive safety environment with emphasis on good housekeeping techniques.

Required Experience:

Essential:

  • Experience working with an ERP system/handheld picking systems.
  • IT literate, proficient in Microsoft Office applications and email.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Qualified forklift truck driver.

Preferable:

  • Experience in manufacturing environments.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Forklift License.
  • Full Clean Driver's License.

  • Experienced in cross-cultural communication.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Team player with irreproachable interpersonal skills.
  • Present a professional image.
  • Flexible, capable of seeing different ways of achieving desired results.

Working Hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week.
  • 7am - 3pm (Monday to Friday).

Pay:

  • £12.20 per hour, rising to £12.50 per hour after 3 months.

Contract Details:

  • Initial 6-month contract with the likelihood of extension based on performance and business needs.
