Fantastic opportunity for a Town Planner to join a small Architectural Consultancy looking to expand and have their own in house Planning team. You will be joining a friendly team of Architects to work within mostly bespoke residential conversions and office spaces.

You should have a few years of UK-based experience and be comfortable working independently as the sole Town Planner, with the opportunity to shape and expand this discipline in the future. Focusing on local projects within a 20-mile radius of Southampton, this role offers an excellent chance to join and contribute to an exciting new team within the business.

Responsibilities
  • Develop creative and original planning solutions
  • Leading planning projects
  • Preparing policy presentations, project proposals and tender responses
  • Manging own client relationships
  • Grow workload and win business in the area
  • Consult with stakeholders and other interested parties
  • Negotiate with developers and other professionals, such as surveyors and architects
  • Assess planning applications and monitor outcomes
  • Research and analyses data to help inform strategic developments
  • Design layouts and draft design statements
  • Attend and present at planning boards, appeals and public inquiries
Requirements
  • Chartered with development management experience ideally within a consultancy background
  • Relevant recognised qualification
  • Proficiency on CAD software
  • Project delivery
  • keep up to date with legislation associated with land use
  • Knowledge of UK best practice standards and UK experience
