Trainee Positive Behaviour Mentor required for a School in Southampton

This school is set in a central location in Southampton, easily accessible by public transport. The school is an 11-16 secondary school who are looking for staff to support their SEND learners. The school is a vibrant and thriving school which is at the heart of its local community.

The school is looking for a behaviour mentor for the inclusion and learning support department. This role has both pastoral aspects and supporting various classes around the school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to encourage positive behaviour and learning interventions on a 1-1 and small group basis.

Your Role
  • Supporting a range of vulnerable children between the ages of 11 - 16 years

  • Be able to appropriately calm children down and de-escalate

  • Be able to effectively behaviour manage

  • Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class and minimise disruption

  • Providing feedback to teachers and parents

  • Be available full time between 8:30-3:30

  • Outgoing and mentoring manner

  • Enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their full potential

  • You will be expected to think on your feet and be proactive, no day is the same so being prepared is vital.

  • Ability to form excellent relationships and rapport with pupils
