A multi-office legal practice in Southampton seeks an organised and enthusiastic Conveyancing Legal Assistant to support a busy residential property team.
Your Role
As a Conveyancing Legal Assistant, you provide essential support to the fee earners with a wide range of conveyancing tasks, including:
- File Management: Opening, maintaining, and closing residential conveyancing files from instruction to post-completion.
- Client Liaison: Acting as the first point of contact for clients, estate agents, and third parties, ensuring exceptional communication and updates throughout the transaction process.
- Drafting Documents: Preparing and completing legal documents, such as contracts, transfer deeds, SDLT forms, and Land Registry applications.
- Searches and Compliance: Ordering property searches, reviewing results, and ensuring all compliance checks (e.g., ID verification and anti-money laundering) are completed.
- Post-Completion Work: Managing submissions to HM Land Registry, including registration applications and handling requisitions promptly.
Suitability:

Conveyancing Experience: ideally 6-12 months+ experience in a conveyancing or property legal assistant role.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy and efficiency in document preparation and data management.
- Client-Focused: A friendly, professional approach with excellent communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
