Are you an English graduate with a passion for education and a desire to become a teacher? GSL Education are currently recruiting for a motivated and enthusiastic English Graduate to join a secondary school in Southampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to begin their teaching career in a supportive and dynamic environment, with full training and development provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the delivery of English lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Support students’ learning through individual and small group interventions.
  • Provide general classroom support, ensuring students stay focused and on-task.
  • Help with the creation and preparation of learning materials and resources.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and support where needed.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to school-wide initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A degree in English or a closely related subject (2:2 or above).
  • A strong passion for education and the desire to become a qualified teacher.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • A proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to work.
  • Previous experience of working with young people in any capacity (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.
  • A positive attitude and a commitment to helping students succeed.
