Can you think on your feet & lead a small team on a day-to-day basis? If so, please read on… A well-established shipping & logistics company based in Southampton is looking to recruit a Port Operations Team Leader to head up a small, dedicated team that coordinates vessel arrivals, departures, ships stores & provisions both locally in Southampton & worldwide. The Role: You will be responsible for leading a small team that ensures goods are moved to and from the port of call in a timely manner and ensuring the goods are Customs cleared. You will also manage marine logistics to and from destinations worldwide, by air & sea. You will be responsible for booking shipments, updating systems, and dealing with shipping paperwork, and above all ensuring a great customer experience.A key part of the role will be attending & boarding vessels whilst in Port, which means that some weekend work and unsociable hours will be required. Driving licence a must.You will have full support from the management, but will be responsible for the day to day planning of workload, problem solving and dealing with an issues, whilst mentoring other members of the team. Essential Criteria:
