We are actively looking to engage customs compliance professional with apassion for shipping and European / RoW freight forwarding for a new role as a Customs Compliance Co-ordinatorin Southampton. The role will be in Southamptonon a hybrid basis with one day per week working from home.

You will be joining a fast-pace environment assisting infinding logistics solutions for some of the world's largest industrial, retail & FMCG based customers. My client focuses on providing customs clearance for air freight, sea freight & road freight solutions, which are both cost effective & time sensitive.

Job Description
As a Customs Compliance Co-ordinatoryou will report in to the Customs & Compliance Manager on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas for responsibility across the Southampton, Hampshire office.

  • Inputting road, air, sea freight clearances into CDS / CHIEF using a vareity of software such as Destin8.
  • Responsible for preparing road, air and sea freight documentation for customs entries- such as export packing lists, certificates of origin, EUR1s, ATR1s, dual use licensing,port charges, cost of special documents, etc..
  • Handling customs entries (EUR1's / ATR1's)and arranging billings for VAT/Duties
  • Ensuring, booking and conducting of full end-to-end customs clearance.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have an expansive background in customs compliance within thefreight forwarding industry or could be a graduate looking to enter the industry whilst gaining experience. The ideal Customs Compliance Co-ordinatorwill have the following skills and experience:

  • 2+ year's experience in customs and/or customs compliance.
  • OR be a graduate looking to gain exposure in the industry.
  • Experience of using CDS or CHIEF software for customs entries
  • Desirable experience of compliance such as AEO, Letter of Credit Documentation, IPR and/or OPR.
  • Knowledge of INCOTerms is advantageous
  • Commutable to Southampton on a hybrid basis.
