Position : Maintenance Engineer (1 x Mechanical, 1 x Electrical)

Tenure : 6 months contract outside of IR35. Will require some of your own tools

Rate : 30-40 hour

Hours : Days only Monday to Friday

Location : Southampton, Hampshire

Working on the ports infrastructure, you will be involved with the maintenance of heavy plant, air bridges, cranes etc.

You will need to be comfortable working at height, and with working both indoors and outdoors

  • Proven experience working around heavy industry.
  • Min Level 3 NVQ or similar in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Proven experience of working with (diagnostics and repair of) hydraulic systems.
  • An understanding of electrical systems/motors and safe isolations.
  • Able to read technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience of working on Cranes
  • MEWPS License NPORS or equivalent
  • Must provide your own tools - specialist OEM tools will be provided.
  • 18th edition
  • Driving license
  • Any experience in maintenance works & PPM's
  • Test and inspect (2394&2395 certification) would be desirable but not a deal breaker
  • Experience in fire alarm systems
  • Experience in PLC's and working through 24V bus and control systems
  • Able to read schematic drawings and fault find on control/bus systems
  • Able to work in a team with others
  • Experience working on large assets with super structures (PBB's/ cranes)
  • Understanding of emergency lighting systems (central battery)
