The Role:

As a 3rd Marine Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels, which transport essential materials between quarries, depots, and wharves. Working closely with the Chief Engineer, you'll play a critical role in maintaining mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to meet high safety and reliability standards.

3rd Marine Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks on engines, generators, and other key ship systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure vessel readiness.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimise downtime.
  • Support the Chief Engineer in managing fuel consumption, inventory, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and maritime regulations.
  • Participate in drills and emergency response exercises to uphold safety procedures.

3rd Marine Engineer Requirements:

  • STCW III/1 Certificate of Competency or equivalent.
  • ENG 1
  • Experience as a Marine Engineer in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
