Join Our client as a Production Technician (Carbon Fibre Winding) in Southampton! Job Title: Production Technician (Carbon Fibre Winding) JOB PURPOSE

Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Production Technician to join our small, cross-functional team in Southampton. In this role, you will be responsible for executing production processes related to the assembly and testing of advanced electrical machines for e-Turbo applications. Your primary task will be the operation of multi-axis machines for carbon fibre winding and other production and testing equipment. You will also engage in various other operations as needed to support production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN:
  • Operate carbon fibre winding machines.
  • Assemble and test electro-mechanical machine assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Set up and operate machinery.
  • Conduct initial investigations into machine and equipment malfunctions, performing necessary repairs and adjustments.
  • Maintain general housekeeping and improve production areas.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES FOR THE PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN:
  • Essential: Expertise in carbon fibre winding machine operation.
  • Desirable: Experience in electro-mechanical fitting.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of care in work.
  • Enthusiastic and committed to achieving objectives.
  • Proactive in providing suggestions and solutions to operational challenges.
  • Open to feedback and committed to personal improvement.
  • Initiative-taker, persistent in task completion.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Adherence to best working practices and health and safety procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Level 3 diploma in electro-mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable experience in carbon fibre winding.

  • Authority/Influence: Responsible for building and testing products, and operating and maintaining machines and equipment.
