About the Role:
GSL Education are seeking a qualified Primary Teacher for immediate placement at a school in Southampton. This position will involve leading a small group of Year 3/4 students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about using a play-based curriculum to support the children’s academic and emotional development while fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment. The role is full-time, 5 days per week.

Primary Teacher Role:
- Lead a small group of Year 3/4 students with SEMH, using a play-based curriculum to engage and support their learning.
- Plan and deliver dynamic lessons tailored to the individual needs of students, promoting holistic development through creative and hands-on activities.
- Foster an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child feels valued and supported in their learning journey.
- Use effective classroom management strategies to maintain a positive, calm, and supportive atmosphere conducive to learning.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and tailored support to help each student thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to create and implement individual learning plans for students with SEMH needs.
- Prioritise the well-being of students, ensuring their emotional and social needs are met alongside their academic growth.
- Uphold safeguarding practices, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students.
Requirements forPrimary Teacher Role:
- Qualified Primary Teacher with experience or a strong interest in supporting children with SEMH needs.
- Hold Qualified Teaching Status: PGCE with QTS or QTLS or working towards QTS
- A full checkable work history
- Passion for and experience with play-based learning approaches.
- Be proactive, energetic, kind and caring
- A commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Availability for full-time, 5 days per week.
