Manufacturing Technician / Southampton / £17.50 per hour

We're looking for a talented Manufacturing Technician to join our client, a leading Aerospace and defence organisation. You'll be responsible for creating high-quality components, sub-assemblies, jigs, and fixtures. We're committed to excellence, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction. using both conventional and CNC machine tools. Your role will also involve using inspection tools and techniques, and continuously improving our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacture high-quality components and assemblies efficiently.
  • Support new product introductions and development builds.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams to enhance product quality.
  • Train and mentor Manufacturing Operatives and Apprentices.
  • Operate conventional and CNC machine tools, and use inspection tools.
  • Contribute to process improvements for continuous enhancement.
Skills & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Technical proficiency through HND/Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in programming and operating CNC and conventional machine tools.
  • Ability to set and check inspection equipment.
  • Consistently produce high-accuracy output.
  • Understand and generate written instructions, and record work performed.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team player.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and maintain a clean work environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with IR detector or vacuum technology.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, and ideally MS Project.
  • Knowledge of Heidenhain and Mazatrol software.
  • Familiarity with SAP.

This is a 12 month temporary contract, Monday to Friday' 37 hours per week
