Randstad are recruiting for an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join a major water infrastructure project in Southampton. This is a contract role offering a competitive rate and the opportunity to work on a critical scheme with a major contractor.

Responsibilities:
- Support the Project Manager in overseeing all aspects of the project, including planning, coordination, and execution of works.
- Manage and supervise a team of project staff, including engineers, site managers, and subcontractors.
- Assist with developing and implementing project plans, risk assessments, and quality management procedures.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.
* Identify and manage potential risks and issues, proposing solutions and corrective actions.
* Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion within budget.
* Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, and financial records.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience working as an Assistant Project Manager or in a similar role within the construction industry, with a strong focus on water infrastructure projects.
* A strong understanding of project management methodologies, such as PRINCE2 or APM.
* Experience working on complex water infrastructure projects, ideally within the AMP7 framework.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
