Mayday Personnel is proud to be working with an established and friendly company based in Totton, Hampshire which is looking to recruit a Press Room Machine Assistant for their friendly reputable business. This position is temporary to cover staff sickness for around two to four weeks.
You will be a hard-working and reliable Press Room Machine Assistant, with good attention to detail.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating the print room machinery effectively and ensuring you remain flexible to work within other departments when required to meet business demands.
Key responsibilities:
- Operating all press room machines in a safe and timely manner as well as ensuring that materials are in place
- Identifying and processing pallets of printed products to the folding and guillotine machines as required.
- Collecting, preparing and putting in place all materials, so as to enable the efficient and safe operation of the printing presses.
- Delivering flat printed work to each folding and guillotine machine in the appropriate sequence as specified.
- Moving other part finished work within the Bindery as coordinated by the Shift Team Leader.
- Mixing inks to meet the correct specifications.
- Providing support to Digital Print and Repro departments.
- Working in the Bindery providing assistance as required.
- Assisting in the general cleaning of various manufacturing areas as required during periods of high workload, and when the factory Cleaner is absent.
- Providing support to other team members as required, and contributing to the process of continually improving work methods and techniques.
Key skills:
- Machine operating within a print room environment would be an advantage
- Previous machine operating experience is required
- Good attention to detail
- Able to work as part of a team as well as alone with minimal supervision (full training is provided)
- Happy to be standing all day
- Good communication skills across all levels
Pay:
- £11.44 per hour
Working hours:
- 1.50pm to 9.40pm
- Monday to Friday – No Weekends!
