A Global manufacturing engineering business is seeking a Buyer to support direct procurement activities for manufacturing.
Candidates should be outgoing and self-motivated professionals with prior experience as a Buyer, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
The role involves collaboration with the supply chain to ensure continuity of supply and achieve production schedules.
The Buyer will manage supplier relationships, handle purchase requisitions, and drive productivity opportunities, among other responsibilities.
Applicants should have relevant purchasing experience and strong data analysis skills, with a salary range typically around £30,000 to £45,000 depending on experience.

Global manufacturing engineering business require a Buyer to support direct procurement activity for manufacturing. Applicants should be out-going, self-motivated professionals with a background in procurement as a Buyer.

The Buyer will join a large and supportive procurement team enjoying a period of growth. Procurement activity will focus on direct commodity areas for manufacturing. The environment is fast-paced and dynamic, so the Buyer will collaborate closely with the supply chain to ensure continuity of supply to achieve production schedules.

Specific duties of the Buyer, will include:

Review, confirm availability and process purchase requisitions
Liaison with internal departments - Production, Engineering, Shopfloor etc.
End-to-end supplier order book management
Supplier Relationship Management and development activities around OTD/OTIF metrics/KPIs
Escalate and expedite material shortage issues and produce reports re: shortages / supplier performance etc
Identify and qualify new suppliers for Ad-hoc requirements
Drive productivity opportunities with supply base to deliver cost out goals

Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

Purchasing/procurement experience as a Junior Buyer, Buyer or Senior Buyer
Supplier management skills and the ability to manage supplier accounts and orderbooks
Data analysis skills - comfortable using data to drive procurement decision-making
MRP literate
Enthusiastic, adaptable and motivated team players
