Market-leading business require a Buyer. Applicants need previous experience in purchasing or procurement as a Buyer or Junior Buyer, and ideally have exposure to a manufacturing or engineering environment and an MRP or ERP system.
The Buyer will join an innovative and dynamic procurement team who are increasingly looking to adopt a more professional, strategic and category-focused approach to procurement. Now is an excellent time to join this business, who have a healthy customer orderbook and will shortly embark on the implementation of a new MRP/ERP system.
Specific duties of the Buyer include:
- Supplier relationship management - foster close, collaborative and harmonious relationships with the supply chain
- Supply market intelligence activities and investigation of new products
- Ownership over a range of SKUs / Categories
- Monitoring of stock levels
- Tendering and cost saving exercises
- Management of supplier contracts and ensure adherence to SLAs
Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Experience in a procurement or purchasing role; Buyer, Junior Buyer, Procurement Assistant, Procurement Administrator etc.
- Previous exposure to a manufacturing or engineering environment
- MRP or ERP skills, failing this exposure to any purchasing or stock control system could work
- A positive, pro-active and curious individual
- Excellent relationship building skills; suppliers, colleagues and customers
