Carbon60 is looking for a Quality & CI Lead to join a client of ours based in Southampton. This is a permanent position. Our client specialises in electrical equiptment, high-voltage generators, motors, wind turbines, and pumps.



As a Quality & CI Lead you will be working in partnership with the Service Centre management team, with full responsibility for quality and continuous improvement in the allocated Service Centre. Providing leadership in the definition of quality procedures to drive, improve and promote the quality culture. Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Take the lead on management, implementation and monitoring of regional quality system requirements, customer requirements and third-party audit requirements. (e.g., Supplier Quality management, Customer feedback, Non-conformance Management)
  • Raise, monitor, and assess quality non-conformance issues through appropriate reporting. Work with the Service Centre Management team to facilitate Root Cause Analysis investigations and drive to implement preventive and corrective actions.
  • Analyse non-conformance and root cause trends, implement improvements to reduce cost of poor quality and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Lead LEAN and continuous improvement projects and activities, working alongside the Service Centre management team to implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Own the internal audit program and support external audits for the Service Centre, analysing results for focused improvement activities
  • In partnership with the quality team and procurement team, manage supplier conformance and adherence to relevant KPI targets
  • Support project / contract handover meetings where necessary to ensure customer quality requirements are documented and quality risk assessed.
  • Lead regular Service centre quality and continuous improvement meeting, with particular focus on non-conformance and root cause analysis.
  • Overall accountability for the calibration of equipment in the Service Centre
  • Provide required quality support where needed to support sales and tendering processes, including pre-qualification documents
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to project quality documentation throughout a project.
Qualification, Experience, Knowledge Required
  • HNC/equivalent in mechanical engineering or related field and/or relevant experience within related industry
  • Knowledge and experience of adherence to ISO9001
  • Previous experience of dealing with and managing a quality management system
  • Comprehensive understanding of advanced Quality, LEAN & Problem-Solving Tools/Techniques
  • Supplier conformance management and development skills
  • Knowledge and experience of rotating equipment standards
  • Appreciation and understanding of materials and repair methods
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems

This Southampton based Quality & CI Lead position is offering a salary of up to 52,000 per annum.
