Position:Assistant Quantity Surveyor and Quantity Surveyor

Location:Southampton with hybrid working available

Salary:£30-35k for AQS (Neg DOE), £41-50k for QS (Neg DOE) car/allowance, and excellent benefits package

Our Client: Is an integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector. They have over 1,000 staff working across eight regional centres, primarily supporting eight long term water sector frameworks operating both on their own and increasingly in joint ventures and alliances.

The Role: Our client is looking to looking to strengthen their Commercial team with an Assistant Quantity Surveyor and a Quantity Surveyor based at their flagship water treatment project near Southampton. The contract is currently in ECI/design stage with ad hoc works as required programmed to 2030. This is a great opportunity to be part of a major project valued at £150m.

You will report directly to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and you will be expected to take responsibility for several key accounts on this large project.

Responsibilities: Applications, valuations/cost value reconciliation.

Cost control and forecasting. Prepare and feed information for monthly reports: value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow.

Supply chain management.

Assisting with Risk and Value Management to optimise solutions and regularly review with the project team.

Contract Management including all relevant contractual forms, methods of budgetary control and relevant software applications.

Support preparation of subcontract enquiries, negotiate and set up contracts.

Ensure all notifications/documents are kept up to date

Ensure all safety risk situations are brought to the attention of site management.

Ongoing liaison with site team, subcontractor(s) and clients representative(s)

Provide contractual advice to the site team as and when required.

Experience: Qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent construction related discipline

ARICS or studying for APC

Experience working with a main contractor

Experience working within Water (Non-Infrastructure) (desirable)

Knowledge of NEC contracts

Knowledge of CEMAR
