Managing Quantity Surveyor

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable main contractor in Southampton. The business is one of the largest privately owned contractors in the UK, undertaking projects across the commercial, education, student accommodation and mixed-use residential sectors valuing from 25mil - 100mil+. The contractor has continued to grow and with a strong pipeline of projects, is now looking to expand the commercial team.

About the role of Managing Quantity Surveyor:

As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be working as Commercial Lead on an upcoming scheme with a team of surveyors reporting into you. You will report into the Commercial Director.

Key responsibilities as Managing Quantity Surveyor:

  • Work alongside the pre-construction team through 2nd stage tenders
  • Oversee the project's procurement / management of suub-contractor packages
  • Deal with final accounts / any dispute resolution that may arise
  • Mentor junior members of the Surveying team and be involved in their professional development

Key Requirements for this Managing Quantity Surveyor position:

  • Hold a BSc Quantity Surveying or HNC
  • Have experience working as commercial lead on sizeable schemes
  • Have experience managing projects from pre-construction through to final account
  • Be proficient in administering various forms of contract including JCT and NEC
  • Have the full right to work in the UK and be happy to commute throughout the South of England.
