A leading Civil Engineering contractor is searching for a Senior Quantity Surveyor. This respected business has been trading for over 20 years and a solid reputation based on quality, trust and safety.



They have built up a strong reputation working for Private Residential Developers across the south and west London area and have a annual turnover of £6 million.



Highly experienced in a wide range of Civil Engineering applications including: Site Clearance, Bulk Excavations, Road Construction, Drainage, Foundations, Car parks and Driveways.



The Role:

  • The Quantity Surveyor will report to the Commercial Manager and will operate as his right hand concerning all commercial activities.
  • Contribute to the management and maintenance of a contract cost reporting system ensuring all financial information is managed and up-to-date and tracked with budget allowances.
  • Produce and provide accurate forecasts of project cost to completion and final value.
  • Ensure that necessary information between customers, sub-contractors and other departments is provided in a timely manner.
  • Monitor cash flow and valuation plan, ensuring applications are made correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Valuing completed work and arranging payments.
  • Providing advice on contractual claims.
  • Assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.
  • Performing risk and value management and cost control.
  • Advising on procurement strategy.
  • Preparing and analysing costing for tenders.
  • Allocating work to subcontractors.




The Person:

  • Will have relevant quantity surveying experience within Groundworks / Civils
  • Ideally (but not necessarily) be a member of a relevant professional RICS or MCIOB
  • Hold a valid CSCS card.
  • Residential Forms of Contract
  • Strong forecasting experience
  • Strong Excel Knowledge
  • Strong contract knowledge
